People coming to India are afraid of catching malaria, of getting loose motions, of being fleeced, and now, of being attacked by terrorists.
The frequency of terrorist attacks is rising exponentially and the sad part is that there's nothing we can do to stop it. A population of fifteen million rendered helpless at the hand of fifteen. Bombay is under siege as I type. This very second some forsaken soul is quivering under a the barrel of a terrorist's gun. When the chefs at The Taj applied for the job, little did they know that there was a risk of being shot dead. A downtrodden cabbie making his living transporting people, later found in charred bits. Friends going out to watch a movie, a first date perhaps, and never coming back. The bastards didn't even spare the hospitals.
My city is being blown apart and there's nothing for me to do. There's nothing even to ensure that this will end here or that it won't happen again.
I can see now why people believe in God. The sheer inability to do anything else makes praying seem like a good idea.

hmm...makes sense. considering most of us pray only in the face of some disaster :( but i really hope there's more we can do, apart from 'just' praying.
